Our energy
RWE Renewables Italia is committed to developing energy from renewable sources.
RWE is a key player in the development of onshore wind energy in Italy, having implemented and managed numerous projects across the country. Through collaboration with strategic partners, RWE continues to expand its portfolio of onshore wind farms.
With a team of over 200 professionals, including project managers, engineers, technicians, and operators, RWE is dedicated to developing, constructing, and managing wind farms while working closely with local communities. This commitment makes a tangible contribution to Italy’s energy transition goals.
Currently, RWE operates 16 wind farms with a total capacity of 527 MW, enough to supply green energy to about 450,000 Italian households. At the same time, the company is exploring a significant pipeline of new projects, aiming to further strengthen its role in the sector.

With our team of experts, we collaborate with residents, institutions, local organisations, and associations to design wind farms in harmony with the surrounding environment. Leveraging RWE Group’s global experience across the entire value chain, RWE Renewables is involved not only in the development but also in the construction and management of wind farms.
From the initial design phase to the renewal or decommissioning of a facility, we ensure high-quality standards and actively engage local communities from the very beginning. The key to our success lies in careful and targeted coordination.
RWE promotes numerous educational and training initiatives aimed at primary and secondary schools, high schools, technical institutes, and universities across Italy. These activities include developing educational materials, organising masterclasses, seminars, and internship programmes for students, as well as career guidance pathways. Through these projects, RWE has engaged thousands of young people, fostering interest in STEM disciplines and increasing awareness of the opportunities offered by the energy sector.
